An Egyptian mother of three has died in a car crash while trying to escape a traffic jam, local media reported on Sunday.

The 3-month-old baby girl died in the car after being hit by a truck in the city of Minya, a provincial governor’s office official told the state-run MENA news agency.

A police spokesman said the accident happened at around 9:00 a.m. local time on Sunday in the outskirts of Minyan, a town on the Nile Delta, with no injuries.

Minya is a major tourist destination and the site of some of Egypt’s most famous landmarks, including the Pyramids and the pyramids of Giza.
